Ph.D. positions at RWTH Aachen University

The International Research Training Group "MIP" [1] at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) has immediate openings for fully-funded Ph.D. positions in the areas of high-performance computing and automation, with focus on 1) matrix and tensor operations, and/or 2) performance modelling. These positions are part of a collaboration between RWTH Aachen University, Umeå University (Sweden), and The University of Texas at Austin (US). Research stays at all institutions are expected (COVID permitting).

The appointments --at the payscale TVL-13 (about 4050 Euros/month gross at the entry level [2])-- will be initially for one year, and will be extended for two extra years upon positive evaluation.

Requirements

Master's degree in computer science or related field.
Ability to acquire knowledge in new subjects quickly and independently.
Proficiency in C or C++. Knowledge of other languages (such as Python, Julia, Fortran, Mathematica, Matlab) is a plus.
Ability to work productively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
